Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Isaac has the attention span of a goldfish, which is not helped by his lack of intelligence. At one point, Mindy gets him to stop hindering their discussion by having Sam give him a sparkler to play with.​

Bavarian Fire Drill: Pretty much the sole reason he was promoted to store manager. After Veronica Carlyle was fired, Isaac simply walked into her office, sat down at the desk, and acted like he was supposed to be there.

 

Brainless Beauty: Isaac is definitely not the brightest of people, but as Sam notes multiple times, he's pretty easy on the eyes. In fact, his combination of good looks and earnest innocence gets him a LOT of attention, not that he really cares.

 

The Charmer: Isaac is very charismatic. And unlike most examples, his charm is completely sincere.

 

Cool Key: Isaac has one of the master “1M7” keys, which opens almost every door in the store.

 

Cloudcuckoolander: Very kooky and eccentric; he only has the vaguest idea what's going on around him at any given time.

 

Good Is Dumb: Played with. While super-friendly, Isaac is ruled by his impulses and inability to think through the consequences of his actions; he can also be incredibly selfish. All things considered though, Isaac is one of the nicest people in the store, and will stick up for his friends without a second thought, even when doing so will get him in trouble.

 

Hidden Depths:

• He’s actually fairly skilled at playing the piano and writing jingles. The problem is that having talent isn't enough to win competitions.

• Played for Laughs at the store’s christmas party. Isaac manages to rattle off Shakespeare sonnets while shitfaced. When he is later questioned about it, he says he doesn’t remember what he said, much less who Shakespeare even is.

 

Innocently Insensitive: Compared to most people, Isaac's more insensitive to laws, norms, and the idea of "oversharing", but he's extremely nice to people. And he does often make a sincere effort to improve when he finds out how he's acting.

 

Limited Wardrobe: When he’s not wearing his corporate-approved uniform (pictured above), he typically wears tracksuits and a gold chain.

 

Mistaken for Profound: All of his "managerial success" is really just him staying completely out of the way and letting people make their own decisions. He's actually a complete idiot who's bluffing his way through the whole thing. Ironically, when he actually does give advice, it often ends up being genuinely helpful in spite of sounding like ridiculous nonsense on the surface.

 

Pointy-Haired Boss: To an extent. He's utterly incompetent and, by his own admission, has absolutely no redeeming professional traits whatsoever, but gets by on being friendly, attractive, and generous. Rags to Riches: A modern working-class example. Isaac went from being a broke floor-level warehouse associate to a fairly well-paid store manager.

 

Trademark Favorite Food: Celery and peanut butter.

 

Straight Gay: Isaac demonstrates no stereotypical traits of being gay aside from his obsessive infatuation with his boyfriend Sam…even Mindy goes so far as to refer to him as "the most straight gay guy ever."
